47th Island Ground Exhibition, Chennai

“FREE Vision Screening” was conducted for general public by SNBFIF under the Government stall – Tamilnadu Science and Technology Center. This vision screening was the first of its kind, with the aim, the public visiting the exhibition can be benefitted from an EYE checkup and then be referred to the base hospital for further consultation. 

 It was conducted to various EYE hospitals and institutions viz,: Sankara Nethralaya & Sankara Nethralaya Academy; Eyewell Hospital; Rajan Eye Care Hospital Pvt Ltd.; M. N. Eye Hospitals Pvt Ltd. In the course of these 28 days of activity, we have screened 328 citizens out of which, 148 Females and 180 Males were beneficiaries. 67 patients were prescribed for glasses whereas 104 patients were referred to the base hospital for further treatment.

It was conducted in association with various EYE hospitals and Institutions. In the course of these  28 days of activity, we have screened overall 328 citizens out of which, 148 Females and 180 Males were beneficiaries. 67 patients were prescribed for Glasses whereas, 104 patients were referred to the base hospital for further treatment (Fundus Examination, Lasik, and General consultation)

National science day Celebrations - 2023

Sundaram Natarajan Blind Free Foundation – SNBFIF celebrated the National Science Day – 2023 in association with TamilNadu Science and Technology Center by organizing the Drawing Competition and also by conducting “FREE VISION SCREENING” supported by The Sankara Netralaya Academy (TSNA) at Dr. N. S. Sundaram Vision Care center, Guindy. These activities were conducted also, to honor the Late Prof Dr. N. S. Sundaram celebrating his 96th Birthday.  

The theme of the drawing competition was “EYE care and EYE Donation” . This drawing competition was done to bring awareness among the young budding generations to understand.

55 schools across Chennai city participated in this competition with a total number of 165 students participating from 5th, 6th and 7th class. Prizes were sponsored combinedly by SNBFIF and Tamilnadu Science and Technology Center to 48 Students. 

At the “FREE Vision Screening” camp teachers, parents, and school students were the beneficiaries with 32 patients out of which 10 patients were prescribed with glasses and 5 were referred for further consultations to the base hospital – SANKARA NETHRALAYA.

All donations made to the organization are exempted U/s 80G of Income Tax Act, 1961. SNBFIF will provide a receipt to the donor.

On receiving the reconciliation statement from the bank, a receipt is sent via email immediately.

Yes, all contributions to SNBFIF are eligible for 50% tax exemption under Section 80(G) of the Income Tax Act.

Upon confirmation of the donation, an 80G tax exemption certificate will be emailed to applicable donors (Indian citizens, organizations and NRI’s)

In case you have not received a tax exemption certificate within a month of making the donation, please write to info@blindfreeindia.org

We send communication material every quarter to the donors, providing updates on program activities supported by your donations. The donor receives a birthday wish, wishes on important festivals, program updates and an annual impact report during a year’s time.

No, we do not share donor’s information with any other organization under our privacy policy.

Yes , we do accept donations in kind like computers, stationeries, collateral printing (Brochures, letterheads, vision charts, pamphlets, referral cards, prescription pads, vision screening forms)
